Grindelwald Switzerland Travel Guide -Things to do in Grindelwald
One of the most scenic and secluded places in the Jungfrau region lies the town of Grindelwald Switzerland. It is the last stop after the town of Interlaken with a population of only 4,000 people. As you arrive in Grindelwald you are surrounded by the Bernese Alps from the minute you get off the train. Grindelwald is Switzerland’s most scenic town and I wish I was able to stay longer than I did. I would recommend spending between two or three days in Grindelwald to experience all it has to offer.
Grindelwald Travel Guide – How to get to Grindelwald Switzerland
Train to Grindelwald – You can access Switzerland from popular destinations like France or Italy. There are two main ways to get to the town of Grindelwald. The cheapest and most popular way to reach the town and travel across all of Switzerland is by train. Rail Europe helps connect Europe and is a very affordable way to travel across countries. I went directly from the Capital of Switzerland which is Bern through Interlaken and then onto Grindelwald. Need help finding cheap flights?
Car/Motorbike – The second best option is to get there by car, which depending on your trip could be a better option. Compare to the United States, Switzerland’s gas is very expensive and is often toured via motorbike because they get better mpg. If I were to travel Switzerland again I would have to consider traveling by motorbike because there were so many points during the train ride I wish I could have stopped and relaxed.

1 – Downtown-Lodge (Have stayed here and loved)
I stayed at the downtown lodge in 2018 and gave them a $50 deposit for the room key (its required). I ended up leaving at 5am when I checked out to catch a train heading to Italy and was not able to get my money back as no-one was at the front office. I called them later that day to inform them I was not able to get my deposit back. They ended up sending me the $50 in the mail to my hotel room in Rome. The hostel staff was very friendly and catering to any questions.
